1. Counselling practitioner with honors diploma or above (or overseas equivalent) in counselling. 
2. OR Counselling practitioner with honors diploma or above in other areas AND have taken a number of Counselling Courses which approved by the Asian Professional Counselling Association (H.K.) (Listed below) AND have practiced at least 250 hours of individual face to face counselling with regular clinical supervision at the time of registrationOR have practiced at least 500 hours of face to face group counselling.
3. The regular supervision must be received from a Counselling Trained Clinical Supervisor. Applicant is required to fill out form and have your supervisor sign and date 

1. Counselling practitioner with Postgraduate Certificate or above in Counselling Supervision (or overseas equivalent).
2. OR Counselling practitioner with at least seven years of clinical experience in Clinical Supervision.
3. AND Counselling practitioner who is currently providing regular clinical supervision. Applicant is required to submit updated CV for approval. Counselling practitioner is expected to have met the basic criteria for registered counsellor. 

1. Fresh Graduate in Counselling and/or Psychology with honors diploma or above (or overseas equivalent) in counselling.
   OR Counselling practitioner with honors diploma or above in other mental health related (e.g. social work, psychology, family therapy, occupational therapy, nursing) areas AND have taken a number of Counselling Courses which approved by the Asian Professional Counselling Association (H.K.) (Listed below)
2. AND is now practicingnot more than 250 hoursof individual face to face counselingwith regular clinical supervision at the time of application OR not more than 400 hours of face to face group counselling.
3. The regular supervision must be received from either a Counselling Trained Clinical Supervisor OR from the Supervisions organized by the Asian Professional Counselling Association (H.K.) once the application is approved. Applicant is required to fill out form and have your supervisor sign and date.

How to promote to REGISTERED COUNSELLOR (For counselling intern ONLY)

1. Theory and technique in Counselling and Psychotherapy or equivalent.
2. Micro-skills in Counselling or equivalent.
3. Ethics: Professional issues and personal awareness or equivalent.
4. Group Counselling/Facilitation or equivalent.
5. At least 400 hours of Internship in counselling or field placement.
6. Any two of the following elective courses:

• Child counselling.
• Adolescent counselling.
• Adult counselling.
• Family counselling/therapy.
• Couple counselling/therapy.
• Marriage counselling/therapy.
